Stallions

In 1978 I was lucky enough to buy my first purebred quarter horse foal Ober Sun Duster aka Jody, from his breeder Pricilla Leigh. He was by Duster's Sport ex Ginger of Dunbar aka Pampas. She was a lovely mare, a real old fashion working type. Jody & I were a team. He won various ribbons at the BQHA show in 1982 & then moved to Cornwall with me in 1983. Those were the days!! I rode him most days & many people still remember this stunning horse on Sennen beach. For a time I kept him in a field by the First & Last Inn & sometimes I would leave there rather worse for wear, throw a headcollar on Jody & go off down the beach for a ride ! I cannot remember ever falling off him...he was just terrific !! I didn't know it then but he was an amber champagne. I lost him when he was 17yrs old.
Then in 1995 I saw Pricilla had a colt foal for sale ex Ober Lucky Star whose dam was my favourite mare Pampas by Dr Paul....another of my favourites....I used to ride him on Wisley Common before I moved to Cornwall. Although Ober Star Diamond aka Chippy was possibly sold, when I told Pricilla I wanted him as my stallion, she very kindly let me have him. He is everything I wanted, a wonderful easy, laid back horse who trusts & works with me. Although he was broken as a 3 yr old he has lived his life as a stud. He lives with his mares & foals & they are a sight to behold. SADLY PTS 2013
